What are sworn translation and notary approval?
If you are submitting a translated document to an official institution, an ordinary translation is often not enough. Institutions usually ask for a sworn translation and sometimes for notary approval as well.
Who is a sworn translator?
A sworn translator has officially proven knowledge of a language, has taken an oath before a notary, and makes translations official with their signature and stamp.
What does the notary approve?
The notary does not assess the content of the translation. The notary approves the translator's identity and signature, so the translation must be made by a translator sworn at that notary office.
Which one do you need?
The institution receiving your document decides. Check its document list before you apply. If you send us the list, we can work out the steps with you.
